About the “Sophia of Kyiv” art collection
The NFT is a digitized version of the “It’s going dark” painting from the famous “Sophia of Kyiv” art collection created by Honoured Artist of Ukraine Yuriy Khymych. The collection dates back to the 1960s and largely employs a post-impressionism style.
The painting is minted as an NFT and will be placed at the auction on the GamesPad NFT marketplace. All funds raised during the NFT auction will be donated to support Ukraine.
About Yuriy Khymych
Yuriy Khymych was an outstanding master of the architectural landscape, a classic of the Ukrainian fine arts of the 20th century. He gained fame as one of the best watercolorists of that time and an outstanding neo-modernist artist.
Yuriy Khymych is the Honored Artist and Architect of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine (1955), member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1962), Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1990), honorary member of the Academy of Architecture of Ukraine.
While he was inspired by the French art of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century, including artworks by impressionists and post-impressionists such as Cezanne, Matisse, Derain, and Marquet, his works represents a unique style and art value.
